Maintenance of generators is important both in terms of safety and long life of the generator. Generators are maintained periodically. In cases where periodic controls are not carried out, financial losses will be experienced and the life of the generator will be shortened. After the maintenance of the generator, the necessary official records are made and these records are checked in future maintenance. Before proceeding with generator maintenance, the following steps should be performed;
- The oil level of the generator engine should be checked.
- The charge of the generator battery should be checked.
- The amount of cooling water in it must be controlled.
- Any leakage should be checked. (In case of leakage, the service should be informed)
- The generator must be operated for 10 minutes within a week without any action.
